* AT 515 PM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN DUE TO
  THUNDERSTORMS. THIS WILL CAUSE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING IN
  THE ADVISORY AREA. AS MUCH AS 10 INCHES OF RAIN HAS ALREADY FALLEN.

...The National Weather Service in Tampa Fl has issued a Flood Warning for the
following rivers...

  Alafia River At Riverview

.The combined effects of heavy rain and water rise due to the tropical system in
the Gulf, combined with higher than normal tides from the new moon, will bring
the Alafia River at Riverview into minor flood stage. Because this part of the
river is influenced by tides, the river will rise into flood stage during the
high tides and quickly fall below flood level several times over the next couple
of days.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive cars through flooded areas.

* From this afternoon until Thursday evening.
* At 11 AM Wednesday the stage was...2.7 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast during high tide.
* Flood stage is 4.2 feet.
* Impact...at 4.2 feet...Water begins to impact homes on Pine Avenue and Park
  Drive.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 4.3 feet on Dec 31
  2002.

...The Flood Warning has been extended for the following
rivers in Florida...

  Cypress Creek At Worthington Gardens
  Alafia River At Lithia
  Little Manatee River At Wimauma
  Manatee River Near Myakka Head
  Myakka River At Myakka River State Park
  Peace River At Zolfo Springs
  Peace River At Arcadia
  Horse Creek Near Arcadia
  Anclote River At Elfers

.Tropical Depression Nine is forecast to strengthen and move into the
Florida Big Bend area. Tropical rains are forecast to bring Minor to
Moderate Flooding to many of the area rivers and creeks on Thursday
and into Friday.

  The Little Manatee River At Wimauma
* From tomorrow late morning through Sunday evening.
* At 09 AM Wednesday the stage was 4.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by tomorrow late morning and
  continue to rise to near 15.0 feet by Friday early afternoon. The river is
  expected to fall below flood stage by Sunday early afternoon.
* Impact...at 14.5 feet...Flooding of several houses begins near 32nd and 33rd
  streets in Ruskin.
* Impact...at 13.0 feet...The canoe rental area floods.
* Impact...at 11.0 feet...The river overflows its banks.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 15.0 feet on Nov 15
  1997.

* At 09 AM Wednesday the stage was 8.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by tomorrow late morning and
  continue to rise to near 15.1 feet by Friday evening. The river is expected to
  fall below flood stage by Sunday evening.
* Impact...at 15.0 feet...Additional residences downstream of State Road 640
  bridge begin flooding.
* Impact...at 13.0 feet...River Drive and Squirrel Run Way downstream of State
  Road 640 are completely covered by water. One home begins to flood.
* Impact...at 12.0 feet...Water begins to affect River Drive and Squirrel Run
  Way downstream of State Road 640.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 15.1 feet on Aug 25
  1957.
