ACROSS SOUTHEAST GEORGIA...

...HEAT ADVISORY FOR ALL OF SOUTHEAST GEORGIA AND PORTION OF
NORTHEAST FLORIDA THIS AFTERNOON...

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHEAST FLORIDA...SOUTHEAST
GEORGIA AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...

HOT AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES IN THE MID TO UPPER 90S WILL COMBINE WITH
THE HUMIDITY TO PRODUCE HEAT INDICES OF 105 TO 110 DEGREES ACROSS
MUCH OF THE AREA. A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR AREAS ALONG AND
NORTH OF THE I-10 CORRIDOR AS WELL AS ALONG THE I-95 CORRIDOR THAT
INCLUDES THE JACKSONVILLE METRO AREA AND ST AUGUSTINE. HEAT INDICES
ACROSS THIS AREA WILL BE AROUND 108 DEGREES AND POSSIBLY AS HIGH AS
113 DEGREES ACROSS A FEW SPOTS IN SOUTHEAST GEORGIA. USE EXTRA
CAUTION IF SPENDING TIME OUTDOORS AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER TO STAY
HYDRATED.

AN APPROACHING COLD FRONT WILL BRING SCATTERED AFTERNOON STORMS TO
MAINLY SOUTHEAST GEORGIA AND THE UPPER SUWANNEE VALLEY THIS
AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THE FRONT WILL INTERACT WITH A MOIST AND
UNSTABLE ENVIRONMENT AND A FEW STORMS MAY BECOME SEVERE AND PRODUCE
STRONG AND POSSIBLY DAMAGING WINDS AND HAIL ESPECIALLY ACROSS
SOUTHEAST GEORGIA.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...

SCATTERED MAINLY AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS ARE FORECAST FOR MAINLY
NORTHEAST FLORIDA ON TUESDAY AND THEN RETURN AREA WIDE BY THE END
OF THE WEEK AND NEXT WEEKEND. SOME OF THE STORMS WILL PRODUCE STRONG
AND GUSTY WINDS...FREQUENT LIGHTNING...AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL.

ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 PM
EDT THIS EVENING.

* HEAT INDEX...AROUND 108 DEGREES.

* TEMPERATURE...HIGHS IN THE UPPER 90S.

* IMPACTS...THESE CONDITIONS WILL INCREASE THE RISK OF HEAT RELATED
  ILLNESSES...SUCH AS HEAT EXHAUSTION OR HEAT STROKE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT A PERIOD OF HEAT INDICES BETWEEN
108 AND 112 DEGREES IS EXPECTED. THE COMBINATION OF HOT
TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL COMBINE TO CREATE A SITUATION
IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE POSSIBLE. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS...
STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED ROOM...STAY OUT OF THE SUN...AND CHECK
