.DAY ONE...TONIGHT...

LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL IS POSSIBLE TONIGHT AS A WARM FRONT LIFTS
NORTH INTO NORTHEAST FLORIDA.

THERE IS A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR THE COASTAL WATERS.

THERE IS A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS AT EAST COAST BEACHES.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...

STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS ARE POSSIBLE OVER THE AREA SUNDAY AFTERNOON
AND EVENING. A SLOW MOVING COLD FRONT WILL PUSH ACROSS THE AREA
TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY CONTINUING THE CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

THERE WILL BE A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS AT AREA BEACHES ON SUNDAY.

A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY FOR THE NEAR

RIP CURRENT RISK...WHICH IS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING.

* TIMING...THERE WILL BE A HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK AT AREA BEACHES
  TODAY THROUGH SUNDAY.

* IMPACTS...BREEZY ONSHORE WINDS AND BUILDING SEAS WILL PRODUCE
  ROUGH SURF CONDITIONS. BREAKER HEIGHTS OF 4 TO 6 FEET ARE
  EXPECTED.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

THERE IS A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS.

RIP CURRENTS ARE POWERFUL CHANNELS OF WATER FLOWING QUICKLY AWAY
FROM SHORE...WHICH OCCUR MOST OFTEN AT LOW SPOTS OR BREAKS IN THE
SANDBAR AND IN THE VICINITY OF STRUCTURES SUCH AS GROINS...
JETTIES AND PIERS. HEED THE ADVICE OF LIFEGUARDS AND THE BEACH
PATROL. PAY ATTENTION TO FLAGS AND POSTED SIGNS.

IF YOU BECOME CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT...DO NOT PANIC. REMAIN CALM
AND BEGIN TO SWIM PARALLEL TO SHORE. ONCE YOU ARE AWAY FROM THE
FORCE OF THE RIP CURRENT...BEGIN TO SWIM BACK TO THE BEACH. DO
NOT ATTEMPT TO SWIM DIRECTLY AGAINST A RIP CURRENT. EVEN A STRONG
SWIMMER CAN BECOME EXHAUSTED QUICKLY.
