THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSONVILLE HAS ISSUED A HIGH
RIP CURRENT RISK...WHICH IS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING.

* TIMING...STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS WILL CREATE A LONGSHORE
  CURRENT...COMBINING WITH EASTERLY SWELLS TO PRODUCE A HIGH RISK
  OF RIP CURRENTS TODAY. THIS THREAT WILL LIKELY CONTINUE TONIGHT
  AND MONDAY.

* IMPACTS...RIP CURRENTS WILL BE COMMON AT AREA BEACHES TODAY.
  BEACH GOERS SHOULD EXERCISE CAUTION IF ENTERING THE SURF.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

THERE IS A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS.

RIP CURRENTS ARE POWERFUL CHANNELS OF WATER FLOWING QUICKLY AWAY
FROM SHORE...WHICH OCCUR MOST OFTEN AT LOW SPOTS OR BREAKS IN THE
SANDBAR AND IN THE VICINITY OF STRUCTURES SUCH AS GROINS...
JETTIES AND PIERS. HEED THE ADVICE OF LIFEGUARDS AND THE BEACH
PATROL. PAY ATTENTION TO FLAGS AND POSTED SIGNS.

IF YOU BECOME CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT...DO NOT PANIC. REMAIN CALM
AND BEGIN TO SWIM PARALLEL TO SHORE. ONCE YOU ARE AWAY FROM THE
FORCE OF THE RIP CURRENT...BEGIN TO SWIM BACK TO THE BEACH. DO
NOT ATTEMPT TO SWIM DIRECTLY AGAINST A RIP CURRENT. EVEN A STRONG
SWIMMER CAN BECOME EXHAUSTED QUICKLY.

GALE WARNING IN EFFECT FOR THE OFFSHORE WATERS AND SMALL CRAFT
ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR THE NEARSHORE WATERS.

A MODERATE RISK OF RIP CURRENTS ALONG THE COAST...MODERATE TO HIGH
RISK SUNDAY.

MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING IS OCCURRING WITHIN SEVERAL LOCAL RIVER
BASINS. PLEASE REFER TO THE RIVER FLOOD WARNINGS AND STATEMENTS FOR
MORE INFORMATION.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...

GALE WARNINGS POSTED FOR THE OFFSHORE WATERS THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING
WITH STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS EXPECTED. SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY CONDITIONS
WILL CONTINUE IN THE NEAR SHORE WATERS THROUGH AT LEAST MONDAY
MORNING...AND OFFSHORE THROUGH AT LEAST MONDAY AFTERNOON.

A MODERATE TO HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS IS EXPECTED AT AREA BEACHES
ON SUNDAY AND MONDAY. AN ELEVATED RISK MAY PERSIST INTO TUESDAY AS
OCEAN SWELLS PERSIST.

MAJOR FLOODING IS FORECAST FOR THE SANTA FE RIVER AT THREE RIVERS
ESTATES FOR THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK. MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING
WILL CONTINUE WITHIN SEVERAL OTHER LOCAL RIVER BASINS. PLEASE
REFER TO THE RIVER FLOOD WARNINGS AND STATEMENTS FOR MORE
INFORMATION.
