THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EASTERN UTAH AND WESTERN
COLORADO.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

PRECIPITATION WILL CONTINUE TO TRACK NORTHWARD TODAY BRINGING SNOW
TO THE MOUNTAINS AND A RAIN SNOW MIX TO THE VALLEYS. MANY
WINTER WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS STORM. SNOW WILL
CONTINUE THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT THOUGH THERE WILL BE LULLS FROM
TIME TO TIME.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

PRECIPITATION WILL CONTINUE THROUGH WEDNESDAY WITH SEVERAL FEET OF
SNOW POSSIBLE FOR THE SAN JUANS AND CENTRAL AND NORTHERN
MOUNTAINS. SOUTHERN VALLEYS WILL ALSO LIKELY SEE HEAVY SNOWFALL. A
STRONG COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH TUESDAY BRINGING MUCH COLDER
TEMPERATURES TO THE REGION BEFORE WARMING UP TOWARDS THE END OF
THE WEEK.

SPOTTER ACTIVATION IS NOT EXPECTED TODAY OR TONIGHT...HOWEVER
SPOTTERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO REPORT SNOWFALL AMOUNTS TO THE

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MST MONDAY...

* LOCATIONS INCLUDE THE CITIES OF...OURAY...TELLURIDE...LAKE
  CITY...SILVERTON...RICO...HESPERUS.

* TIMING...PERIODS OF SNOW THROUGH MONDAY EVENING. SNOW WILL BE
  HEAVY AT TIMES ESPECIALLY THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...2 TO 4 FEET WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS
  EXPECTED FROM SILVERTON SOUTHEAST TO THE NEW MEXICO BORDER.

* WINDS...SOUTHWEST 10 TO 25 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS AT TIMES. AREAS
  OF BLOWING SNOW AT TIMES. ABOVE TIMBERLINE...GUSTS BETWEEN 30 TO
  50 MPH WILL BE COMMON TODAY.

* VISIBILITY...RESTRICTED AT TIMES IN SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW.
  NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS AT TIMES OVER THE MOUNTAIN PASSES.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL IS EXPECTED TO BECOME DIFFICULT OR IMPOSSIBLE
  THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE
EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS AND BLOWING SNOW ARE ALSO
POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.

SANGRE DE CRISTO RANGE

THE COLORADO AVALANCHE INFORMATION CENTER HAS ISSUED AN AVALANCHE
WATCH FOR THE SOUTHERN MOUNTAINS OF COLORADO. A STRONG WINTER STORM
WILL IMPACT THE AREA THROUGH MONDAY. AVALANCHE DANGER WILL INCREASE
RAPIDLY AS SNOW ACCUMULATES AND DRIFTS. BACKCOUNTRY AVALANCHE
CONDITIONS COULD BECOME VERY DANGEROUS BY SUNDAY AFTERNOON. TRAVEL
IN OR BELOW AVALANCHE TERRAIN IS NOT RECOMMENDED.
