THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EASTERN UTAH AND WESTERN
COLORADO.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

ISOLATED SNOW SHOWERS CAN BE EXPECTED OVER THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS
TODAY...WITH SNOW SHOWERS INCREASING IN COVERAGE AND INTENSITY
OVERNIGHT. LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW WILL DEVELOP OVER THE MOUNTAINS NEAR
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS AFTER MIDNIGHT. NUMEROUS WINTER STORM
WARNINGS...WATCH AND ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT BEGINNING TODAY AND
CONTINUING THROUGH MONDAY. PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE AT
WEATHER.GOV/GJT FOR THE LATEST INFORMATION.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

PERIODS OF SNOW...HEAVY AT TIMES...CAN BE EXPECTED OVER THE
MOUNTAINS OF WESTERN COLORADO WITH SNOW SPREADING INTO THE HIGHER
VALLEYS ON WESTERN COLORADO BY SUNDAY EVENING. THE SNOW ENDS LATE
MONDAY WITH SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS UP TO 2 FEET POSSIBLE IN THE
MOUNTAINS WITH UP TO A FOOT POSSIBLE FOR THE HIGHER VALLEYS.

ANOTHER STORM WILL PASS THROUGH THE AREA ON CHRISTMAS DAY BRINGING
A CHANCE OF SNOW TO MUCH OF EASTERN UTAH AND WESTERN COLORADO.

TO MIDNIGHT MST MONDAY NIGHT...

* TIMING...PERIODS OF SNOW...HEAVY AT TIMES...WILL CONTINUE
  THROUGH MONDAY EVENING. THE HEAVIEST SNOW IS EXPECTED TO FALL
  LATE THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY MORNING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...12 TO 24 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER
  AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.

* WINDS...WEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH.

* IMPACTS...ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL RESULT IN ICY AND SNOW PACKED
  ROADS AND HIGHWAYS...ESPECIALLY OVER THE MOUNTAIN SUMMITS. THE
  COMBINATION OF SNOW...BLOWING SNOW AND FOG WILL LIMIT
  VISIBILITY BELOW 1 MILE WITH NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS AT TIMES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE
EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS AND BLOWING SNOW ARE ALSO
POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.

THE COLORADO AVALANCHE INFORMATION CENTER HAS ISSUED AN AVALANCHE
WATCH FOR THE MOUNTAINS OF THE STEAMBOAT...ASPEN...AND GUNNISON
AREAS. A STRONG WINTER STORM WILL IMPACT THE AREA STARTING SATURDAY
NIGHT. AVALANCHE DANGER WILL INCREASE RAPIDLY AS SNOW ACCUMULATES AND
DRIFTS. BACKCOUNTRY AVALANCHE CONDITIONS COULD BECOME VERY DANGEROUS
ON SUNDAY. TRAVEL IN OR BELOW AVALANCHE TERRAIN IS NOT RECOMMENDED.
