...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON MDT TODAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND JUNCTION HAS EXPANDED THE

* FLASH FLOOD WATCH TO INCLUDE THE TOWN OF COLLBRAN.

* UNTIL NOON MDT TODAY

* LOCAL OBSERVATIONS AT THE SAG POND IN THE LANDSLIDE AREA HAVE
  SHOWN WATER LEVELS DECREASING OVER THE LAST FEW HOURS. IN
  ADDITION...THE PUBLIC HAS REPORTED THE SOUND OF RUSHING WATER
  NEAR THE LAND SLIDE. THIS FLASH FLOOD WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED AT
  THE REQUEST OF EMERGENCY MANAGMENT OFFICIALS TO ACCOUNT FOR
  THE POSSIBILITY OF FLASH FLOODING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EASTERN UTAH AND WESTERN
COLORADO.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

WRAPAROUND FLOW FROM THE LOW PRESSURE TO OUR EAST WILL KEEP
ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN THE FORECAST
FOR THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. MOST OF THE ACTIVITY WILL STAY
OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN THOUGH SOME CELLS MAY DRIFT INTO VALLEYS.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH HAS ALSO BEEN ISSUED FOR THE WEST SALT CREEK
LANDSLIDE AND SALT CREEK ROAD IN MESA COUNTY THROUGH NOON TODAY
DUE TO WATER LEVELS DECREASING IN A SAG POND AT THE TOP OF THE
WEST CREEK LAND SLIDE.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY

UNSETTLED WEATHER REMAINS IN THE FORECAST THROUGH THE WEEKEND AND
BEYOND AS AMPLE MOISTURE WILL GET WORKED ON BY DAYTIME HEATING
ALLOWING AFTERNOON AND EVENING SHOWERS AND STORMS TO FORM EACH
DAY.  THESE STORMS AND SHOWERS WILL FORM OVER HIGHER ELEVATIONS.
