...LARGE NORTHWESTERLY SWELL EXPECTED TODAY AND TONIGHT...

LARGE NORTHWEST SWELL HAS ARRIVED IN NORTHERNMOST CALIFORNIA EARLY
THIS MORNING. THE SWELL WILL CONTINUE TO PRESS SOUTHEASTWARD ALONG
THE COAST TODAY AND TONIGHT. LARGE SWELL WILL CAUSE STRONG RIP CURRENTS
LARGE SURF AND POSSIBLE SNEAKER WAVES.

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM PDT MONDAY...

* WAVES AND SURF...NORTHWEST SWELL INITIALLY 5 TO 8 FEET AT 18
  SECONDS WILL BUILD TO 13 TO 15 FEET AT 15 TO 16 SECONDS THIS
  MORNING AND AFTERNOON.

* TIMING...NORTHWEST SWELL WILL BUILD THROUGH TODAY AND CONTINUE
  TONIGHT.

* IMPACTS...LARGE SURF IS EXPECTED AT EXPOSED BEACHES SUCH AS
  OCEAN BEACH. STRONG RIP CURRENTS ARE EXPECTED ALONG THE ENTIRE
  COAST FROM SONOMA COUNTY SOUTH TO MONTEREY COUNTY. A HEIGHTENED
  RISK OF SNEAKER WAVES IS EXPECTED...ESPECIALLY ON STEEPER BEACHES
  LIKE CARMEL RIVER BEACH AND MONTARA STATE BEACH.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT BEACHES IN
THE ADVISORY AREA...PRODUCING RIP CURRENTS...SNEAKER WAVES AND
LOCALIZED BEACH EROSION. PLEASE NEVER TURN YOUR BACK TO THE OCEAN
AND AVOID CLIMBING ON AND FISHING FROM ROCKS AND JETTIES.
