NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAN DIEGO CA
101 PM PDT TUE SEP 30 2014

...HOT CONDITIONS FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...

.A STRONG RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING ALOFT...IN ADDITION TO
OFFSHORE WINDS...WILL BRING HOT CONDITIONS TO THE LOWER SLOPES OF
THE MOUNTAINS...VALLEYS...AND TO WITHIN A FEW MILES INLAND OF THE
COAST FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY. DAY-TIME HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE 10
TO 20 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL IN THESE LOCATIONS...WITH SATURDAY
LIKELY BEING THE HOTTEST DAY. SLOW COOLING WILL BEGIN ALONG THE
COAST ON SUNDAY...BUT IT WILL STILL BE QUITE HOT INLAND.
ADDITIONAL COOLING WILL OCCUR EARLY NEXT WEEK AS THE RIDGE
CONTINUES TO SLOWLY WEAKEN.

SATURDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A HEAT
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM FRIDAY TO 8 PM PDT
SATURDAY.

* DAY-TIME HIGH TEMPERATURES...A FEW MILES AND FURTHER INLAND IN
  ORANGE COUNTY...95 TO 102 DEGREES. A FEW MILES AND FURTHER INLAND
  IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY...90 TO 95 DEGREES. BEACHES OF ORANGE AND
  SAN DIEGO COUNTIES...80 TO 90 DEGREES.

* TIMING...FRIDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

* IMPACTS...ABNORMALLY HOT TEMPERATURES CAN BE STRESSFUL TO
  ANIMALS AND HUMANS...MAKING IT HARD FOR THE BODY TO ACCLIMATE
  AND REMAIN HYDRATED. WITHOUT PRECAUTIONS EVEN HEALTHY ADULTS
  COULD EXPERIENCE HEAT STRESS AND ILLNESS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN
POSSIBLE, RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
EVENING.  KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT
STROKE.  WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN
POSSIBLE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.

TO REDUCE RISK DURING OUTDOOR WORK THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND
HEALTH ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS SCHEDULING FREQUENT REST BREAKS
IN SHADED OR AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENTS. ANYONE OVERCOME BY
HEAT SHOULD BE MOVED TO A COOL AND SHADED LOCATION.   HEAT STROKE
IS AN EMERGENCY - CALL 911.
