...STRONG GUSTY SANTA WINDS DEVELOPING TODAY BELOW THE CAJON PASS
AND SANTA ANA MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS...SPREADING SOUTHWARD INTO
THE MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS OF RIVERSIDE AND SAN DIEGO COUNTIES FOR
LATE MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...

.SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE GREAT BASIN AND NORTHWEST WINDS
ALOFT WILL BRING PERIODS OF MODERATE TO STRONG GUSTY SANTA ANA
WINDS THROUGH TUESDAY. STRONG GUSTY SANTA ANA WINDS WILL DEVELOP
AROUND SUNRISE TODAY BELOW THE CAJON PASS AND IN THE SANTA ANA
MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS AND STRENGTHEN DURING THE MORNING WITH
STRONGEST GUSTS TO AROUND 75 MPH POSSIBLE. GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS
WILL DIMINISH SOMEWHAT...BUT CONTINUE THROUGH TONIGHT INTO MONDAY.
FOR LATE MONDAY INTO TUESDAY...STRONG GUSTY NORTHEAST TO EAST
WINDS WILL SPREAD SOUTHWARD INTO RIVERSIDE AND SAN DIEGO COUNTIES
WITH STRONGEST WINDS IN THE MOUNTAINS AND INLAND VALLEYS OF SAN
DIEGO COUNTY.

...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON PST WEDNESDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A HIGH WIND
WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON PST WEDNESDAY. THE HIGH
WIND WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* WINDS...AREAS OF NORTHEAST WINDS 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 55
  MPH. LOCAL GUSTS TO 75 MPH.

* LOCATION...STRONGEST GUSTS BELOW THE CAJON PASS AND IN THE SANTA
  MOUNTAINS THROUGH MONDAY MORNING...AND BELOW THE BANNING PASS
  FOR LATE MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.

* TIMING...STRONGEST WINDS FOR THIS MORNING...AND AGAIN FOR LATE
  MONDAY INTO TUESDAY.

* IMPACTS...BROKEN TREE LIMBS...DEBRIS ON ROADWAYS...ISOLATED
  POWER OUTAGES POSSIBLE...MINOR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE POSSIBLE
  WITH THE STRONGEST GUSTS.

* OUTLOOK...THE WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO DECREASE LATE TUESDAY BUT
  WILL REMAIN QUITE GUSTY IN THE OFFSHORE WIND PRONE AREAS INTO
  WEDNESDAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH WIND WARNING MEANS A HAZARDOUS HIGH WIND EVENT IS EXPECTED
OR OCCURRING. SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OF AT LEAST 40 MPH OR GUSTS
OF 58 MPH OR MORE CAN LEAD TO PROPERTY DAMAGE.
