.OFFSHORE WINDS WILL GRADUALLY DEVELOP OVER SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
TONIGHT AND MONDAY AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS INTO THE GREAT BASIN.
AS THIS SURFACE-BASED HIGH PRESSURE STRENGTHENS MONDAY NIGHT...A
PERIOD OF MODERATE TO LOCALLY STRONG GUSTY SANTA ANA WINDS WILL DEVELOP.
THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL BE LATE MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY MORNING.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A HIGH WIND
WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY EVENING THROUGH TUESDAY
AFTERNOON.

* WINDS...NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS 20 TO 30 MPH...WITH GUSTS TO 60
  MPH. LOCAL GUSTS TO 75 MPH.

* LOCATION...STRONGEST GUSTS BELOW THE CAJON PASS...IN THE SANTA
  MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS...BELOW THE BANNING PASS....AND BELOW CUYAMACA.

* TIMING...THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL DEVELOP LATE MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY
  MORNING. A SECONDARY...BUT WEAKER PERIOD OF WINDS WILL OCCUR
  TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS...BROKEN TREE LIMBS...DEBRIS ON ROADWAYS...AND DANGEROUS
  TRAVEL CONDITIONS FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH WIND WATCH MEANS THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A HAZARDOUS
HIGH WIND EVENT. SUSTAINED WINDS OF AT LEAST 40 MPH...OR GUSTS OF
58 MPH OR STRONGER MAY OCCUR. CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST
FORECASTS.
