THE COASTAL SLOPES OF THE MOUNTAINS AND ADJACENT VALLEYS...

.OFFSHORE WINDS WILL GRADUALLY DEVELOP OVER SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
TONIGHT AND MONDAY AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS INTO THE GREAT BASIN.
AS THIS HIGH PRESSURE AREA STRENGTHENS MONDAY NIGHT...A PERIOD OF
MODERATE TO LOCALLY STRONG SANTA ANA WINDS WILL DEVELOP. THE
STRONGEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED LATE MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY MORNING.

A HIGH WIND WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY EVENING THROUGH
TUESDAY AFTERNOON.

* WINDS...NORTH TO NORTHEAST 20 TO 35 MPH...WITH GUSTS TO 60 MPH.
  ISOLATED GUSTS TO NEAR 75 MPH POSSIBLE.

* LOCATION...STRONGEST GUSTS BELOW THE CAJON PASS AND IN THE SANTA
  ANA MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS. OTHER AREAS THAT MAY EXPERIENCE
  STRONG WIND GUSTS ARE BELOW THE BANNING PASS...AND BELOW WIND
  PRONE CANYONS OF THE CUYAMACA MOUNTAINS IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY.

* TIMING...THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL DEVELOP LATE MONDAY NIGHT AND
  TUESDAY MORNING. A SECONDARY...BUT WEAKER PERIOD OF WINDS WILL
  OCCUR TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS...BROKEN TREE LIMBS...DEBRIS ON ROADWAYS...AND DANGEROUS
  TRAVEL CONDITIONS FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH WIND WATCH MEANS THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A HAZARDOUS
HIGH WIND EVENT. SUSTAINED WINDS OF AT LEAST 40 MPH...OR GUSTS OF
58 MPH OR STRONGER MAY OCCUR. CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST
FORECASTS.
