...HEAT ADVISORY CONTINUES THROUGH TUESDAY...

.A LARGE AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE AND WEAK ONSHORE FLOW WILL
CONTINUE THE HOT WEATHER PATTERN FOR THE REGION THROUGH TUESDAY.

ORANGE COUNTY COASTAL AREAS-
SAN BERNARDINO AND RIVERSIDE COUNTY VALLEYS-THE INLAND EMPIRE-
SAN DIEGO COUNTY VALLEYS-SANTA ANA MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS-

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM PDT TUESDAY...

* HIGH TEMPERATURES...MID TO UPPER 80S ALONG THE IMMEDIATE
  COAST...INTO THE 90S A FEW MILES INLAND...OVER 100 DEGREES IN
  INLAND ORANGE COUNTY...THE INLAND EMPIRE AND FAR INLAND VALLEYS
  AND FOOTHILLS OF SAN DIEGO COUNTY.

* IMPACTS...ABNORMALLY HOT TEMPERATURES CAN BE STRESSFUL TO
  ANIMALS AND HUMANS...MAKING IT HARD FOR THE BODY TO ACCLIMATE
  AND REMAIN HYDRATED. WITHOUT PRECAUTIONS EVEN HEALTHY ADULTS
  COULD EXPERIENCE HEAT STRESS AND ILLNESS.

* LOCATIONS...ALL AREAS WEST OF THE MOUNTAINS...EXCEPT WITHIN A
  FEW MILES OF THE COASTLINE.

* TIMING...THE HOTTEST WEATHER IS EXPECTED TO PERSIST THROUGH
  TUESDAY. TEMPERATURES WILL BEGIN TO LOWER NOTICEABLY ON
  WEDNESDAY...ALTHOUGH HUMIDITY MAY BE ON THE RISE DUE TO AN
  INFLUX OF MONSOONAL MOISTURE FROM THE SOUTH.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN
POSSIBLE... RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
EVENING.  KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT
STROKE.  WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN
POSSIBLE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.

TO REDUCE RISK DURING OUTDOOR WORK THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND
HEALTH ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS SCHEDULING FREQUENT REST BREAKS
IN SHADED OR AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENTS. ANYONE OVERCOME BY
HEAT SHOULD BE MOVED TO A COOL AND SHADED LOCATION.   HEAT STROKE
IS AN EMERGENCY - CALL 911.
