...HIGH SURF EXPECTED FOR SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA BEACHES THROUGH
THIS EVENING...

.A LARGE WEST TO NORTHWEST SWELL WITH A RELATIVELY LONG PERIOD
WILL CONTINUE TO BRING HIGH SURF TO SOME BEACHES OF SOUTHWEST
CALIFORNIA THROUGH LATE THIS EVENING. THE HIGH SURF WILL BE
ACCOMPANIED BY STRONG RIP AND LONG-SHORE CURRENTS ON ALL AREA
BEACHES. BEACH EROSION IS POSSIBLE AROUND THE TIMES OF HIGH TIDE
ESPECIALLY ALONG THE CENTRAL COAST. SNEAKER WAVES ARE POSSIBLE IN
MANY AREAS AS WAVES MAY UNEXPECTEDLY WASH OVER ROCKS AND JETTIES.

TONIGHT...

* SURF AND TIMING...SURF OF 5 TO 7 FEET WILL CONTINUE THROUGH
  THIS EVENING. SURF WILL BE HIGHEST ON EXPOSED WEST FACING
  BEACHES.

* IMPACTS...HIGH SURF AND STRONG RIP CURRENTS WILL RESULT IN
  DANGEROUS SWIMMING AND SURFING CONDITIONS. WAVES MAY OVER-TOP
  JETTIES AND SEA WALLS AROUND THE TIMES OF HIGH TIDE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...IF CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT...SWIM PARALLEL TO SHORE
UNTIL YOU ARE FREE OF THE POWERFUL CURRENT. ALWAYS SWIM NEAR A

SCATTERED SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE AREA THROUGH TONIGHT IN
THE WAKE OF A COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE. WITH SNOW LEVELS AROUND 5000 TO
5500 FEET...SOME ACCUMULATION SNOWFALL IS LIKELY AT HIGHER
ELEVATIONS (GENERALLY ABOVE 6000 FEET).

A LARGE...LONG-PERIOD...WEST TO NORTHWEST SWELL WILL CONTINUE TO
GENERATE HIGH SURF AND DANGEROUS RIP CURRENTS ALONG LOCAL BEACHES
THROUGH THIS EVENING.
