* URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
  EASTERN PIMA COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST ARIZONA...
  THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF...TUCSON...ORO VALLEY...MARANA...GREEN
  VALLEY...
  EASTERN PINAL COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST ARIZONA...
  EASTERN SANTA CRUZ COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST ARIZONA...

* UNTIL 700 PM MST

* AT 455 PM MST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR CONTINUED TO
  INDICATE AN AREA OF MODERATE SHOWERS OVER EASTERN PIMA COUNTY...
  EASTERN PINAL COUNTY AND EASTERN SANTA CRUZ COUNTY. THESE SHOWERS
  WILL PRODUCE RAINFALL AMOUNTS BETWEEN 0.40 AND 0.70 INCHES IN AREAS
  THAT ARE ALREADY SATURATED FROM SHOWERS EARLIER TODAY...RESULTING
  IN RUNNING WATER IN NORMALLY DRY WASHES...ROADWAY DIPS AND OTHER
  LOW LYING AREAS. THIS URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY IS FOR
  THE SAME AREAS IN EASTERN PIMA AND EASTERN PINAL COUNTIES AS THE
  ONE ISSUED EARLIER...JUST EXTENDING THE TIME AN ADDITIONAL TWO
  HOURS. HOWEVER...EASTERN SANTA CRUZ COUNTY HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE
  CURRENT URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS RIVER OR STREAM FLOWS ARE ELEVATED OR PONDING
OF WATER IN URBAN OR OTHER AREAS IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.

IN HILLY TERRAIN THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF LOW WATER CROSSINGS WHICH ARE
POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS IN HEAVY RAIN. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL ACROSS
FLOODED ROADS. FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES. IT TAKES ONLY A FEW INCHES OF
SWIFTLY FLOWING WATER TO CARRY VEHICLES AWAY.

A WIDESPREAD AREA OF MAINLY MODERATE RAIN OVER PINAL COUNTY
STRETCHING SOUTHWARD THROUGH EASTERN PIMA COUNTY INCLUDING TUCSON
AND THEN SOUTH INTO SANTA CRUZ COUNTY WILL CONTINUE TO TRACK TO
THE NORTH-NORTHEAST THROUGH THE EARLY EVENING HOURS. THIS WILL
GRADUALLY PUT THIS AREA OF MORE WIDESPREAD RAIN INTO PORTIONS OF
GRAHAM...GREENLEE AND COCHISE COUNTIES. RAINFALL RATES UP TO ONE
HALF INCH PER HOUR IN THE VALLEYS AND UP TO ONE INCH IN THE
MOUNTAINS IS EXPECTED. SNOW LEVELS WILL REMAIN MAINLY ABOVE 8500
FEET.

  NORTHEASTERN PIMA COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST ARIZONA...

* UNTIL 345 AM MST SATURDAY

* AT 350 PM MST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR DETECTED
WIDESPREAD SHOWERS PRODUCING HEAVY RAINFALL MOVING ACROSS THE
CATALINA AND RINCON MOUNTAINS NORTHEAST AND EAST OF TUCSON. RAINFALL
IN EXCESS OF 5 INCHES HAS FALLEN ACROSS SOME OF THE HIGHEST PEAKS.
FLOWS THAT WILL PRODUCE SOME FLOODING WILL OCCUR IN THE SABINO...
TANQUE VERDE AND BEAR CREEK BASINS.

A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN REPORTED.
STREAM RISES WILL BE SLOW AND FLASH FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED.
HOWEVER...ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS
IMMEDIATELY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.
