THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR APACHE...COCONINO...
NORTHERN GILA...NAVAJO...AND YAVAPAI COUNTIES IN NORTHERN
ARIZONA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED
ACROSS NORTHERN ARIZONA TODAY WITH THE GREATEST ACTIVITY ALONG
AND NORTH OF THE MOGOLLON RIM. THE PRIMARY HAZARD FROM THESE
STORMS WILL BE FLOODING FROM HEAVY RAINFALL...FREQUENT LIGHTNING
AND UP TO 1 INCH SIZED HAIL. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR
PARTS OF NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST ARIZONA. THUNDERSTORM
ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO DIMINISH THIS EVENING ACROSS THE REGION
WITH ACTIVITY PERSISTING THE LONGEST IN FAR NORTHEASTERN ARIZONA.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

FROM MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...CHANCES FOR SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS WILL GENERALLY BE CONFINED TO THE WHITE MOUNTAINS
REGION. BEGINNING THURSDAY...LOW LEVEL MOISTURE WILL BE ON THE
INCREASE RESULTING IN A RETURN OF DAILY CHANCES FOR SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS.

* SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
  EAST CENTRAL COCONINO COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL ARIZONA...
  NORTHWESTERN NAVAJO COUNTY IN NORTHEASTERN ARIZONA...

* UNTIL 530 PM MST

* AT 230 PM MST...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN DUE TO
  THUNDERSTORMS. THIS WILL CAUSE SMALL STREAM FLOODING IN THE
  ADVISORY AREA.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
  COALMINE CANYON CHAPER HOUSE AND HOPI RESERVATION...HIGHWAY
  264.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

IN HILLY TERRAIN THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF LOW WATER CROSSINGS WHICH ARE
POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS IN HEAVY RAIN. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL ACROSS
FLOODED ROADS. FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES. IT TAKES ONLY A FEW INCHES OF
SWIFTLY FLOWING WATER TO CARRY VEHICLES AWAY.

* FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL ARIZONA AND WEST
  CENTRAL ARIZONA...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...COCONINO
  PLATEAU...GRAND CANYON COUNTRY...WESTERN MOGOLLON RIM.

* UNTIL 5 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON

* THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF VERY HEAVY RAINFALL AND FLASH FLOODING
  WILL MOVE SLOWLY EASTWARD ACROSS THE AREA THROUGH LATE THIS
  AFTERNOON.

* FLOODING OF NORMALLY DRY WASHES AND STREAMS IS POSSIBLE WITH THE
  HEAVIER RAINFALL. SOME ROADWAYS COULD BECOME FLOODED.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT DEVELOPING CONDITIONS MAY LEAD TO
FLASH FLOODING WITHIN THE WATCH AREA. PEOPLE...ESPECIALLY THOSE
LOCATED ALONG AREA CREEKS...RIVERS OR OTHER FLASH FLOOD PRONE
AREAS...SHOULD CONTINUE TO MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE
PREPARED TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE
ISSUED.
