DESERT WILL DECREASE OVERNIGHT AS A COLD FRONT SWEEPS ACROSS THE
REGION. GUSTY NORTH WINDS WILL DEVELOP BEHIND THE FRONT...ESPECIALLY
ALONG THE COLORADO RIVER VALLEY FROM LAKE MOHAVE TO LAKE HAVASU SUNDAY.

PST /5 PM MST/ SUNDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAS VEGAS HAS ISSUED A LAKE WIND
ADVISORY FOR LAKE MOHAVE AND THE COLORADO RIVER VALLEY TO LAKE
HAVASU...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM PST /10 AM MST/ TO 4 PM PST /5
PM MST/ SUNDAY.

* WINDS: NORTH SUSTAINED 25 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 35 TO 40 MPH.

* TIMING: WINDS WILL INCREASE QUICKLY SUNDAY MORNING AND PEAK
  THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON BEFORE GRADUALLY DECREASING BY LATE AFTERNOON.

* LOCATIONS: COTTONWOOD COVE ON LAKE MOHAVE DOWN TO LAKE HAVASU.

* IMPACTS: STRONG WINDS IN EXCESS OF 30 MPH WILL CREATE DANGEROUS
  BOATING CONDITIONS ON AREA LAKES DURING THE ADVISORY PERIOD. THESE
  WINDS WILL CREATE VERY CHOPPY WATERS AND GENERATE LARGE WAVES
  WHICH COULD CAPSIZE OR SWAMP SMALL CRAFT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

FOR YOUR PERSONAL SAFETY...OPERATORS OF SMALL CRAFT ARE URGED TO
POSTPONE THEIR OUTINGS UNTIL THE WINDS SUBSIDE. IF YOU DO VENTURE
OUT ONTO THE LAKES...AVOID THE OPEN WATER AND STAY CLOSE TO SHORE OR
IN PROTECTED COVES AND INLETS.
