SERFC QPF | HPC 6-HR QPF | HPC DAILY QPF | Puerto Rico: HPC QPF| Puerto Rico: SJU QPF

These Quantitative Precipitation Forecasts (QPF) are produced by the Hydromet Forecasters (HAS) at the SERFC. The SERFC routinely includes 24 hours of forecast rainfall (QPF) through the year.  This QPF is used as input to river forecasts as well as the SERFC and National Significant River Flood Outlooks.  There is one exception.  For inland-moving tropical systems, the SERFC will use both the first 24 hours of forecast rainfall (Day 1) and 60% of the anticipated second 24 hour rainfall (Day 2).  However, when creating the daily Significant Flood Outlook Maps, the HAS forecasters and hydrologists at the SERFC use the 5 day forecast issued by the Hydrometeorological Prediction Center (HPC), as guidance when making a decision of whether to highlight an area that may receive Significant Flooding.
