A TORNADO WAS CONFIRMED IN MCPHERSON COUNTY BASED UPON EVIDENCE
SEEN DURING A NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE STORM SURVEY...COUPLED WITH
REPORTS AND PICTURES PROVIDED BY NEARBY RESIDENTS. THE TORNADO
MADE A BRIEF TOUCHDOWN IN AND AROUND A CORN FIELD ABOUT 6 MILES NORTHWEST
OF LONG LAKE. THE TORNADO TRAVELED 0.1 MILES TO THE NORTH
NORTHWEST BEFORE LIFTING. THE TORNADO CAUSED MINOR DAMAGE TO A
CORN FIELD CAUSING SOME CORN STALKS TO BE BENT OVER AND TWISTED.
ALSO SOME CORN COB DEBRIS WAS BLOWN ACROSS THE NEARBY 101ST STREET.
DAMAGE OF THIS MAGNITUDE IS CONSISTENT WITH WIND SPEEDS NEAR 70 MPH...OR
EF-0 DAMAGE.

TORNADOES INTO THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES.

EF0...WEAK......65 TO 85 MPH
EF1...WEAK......86 TO 110 MPH
EF2...STRONG....111 TO 135 MPH
EF3...STRONG....136 TO 165 MPH
EF4...VIOLENT...166 TO 200 MPH
