...ENHANCED FIRE DANGER THIS AFTERNOON...

IN WAKE OF A COLD FRONT...NORTHWEST WINDS WILL GUST AT TIMES
TO AROUND 25 TO 30 MPH AND THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY WILL DROP TO
BETWEEN 20 AND 30 PERCENT INTO THIS AFTERNOON.

THIS IN COMBINATION WITH THE MIXING OF MUCH DRIER AIR TO THE
SURFACE AND DAYTIME HEATING WILL CAUSE SMALLER FUELS...SUCH AS
LEAF LITTER AND GRASSES TO DRY FURTHER. THIS WILL LEAD TO ENHANCED
FIRE DANGER WHICH COULD RESULT IN THE RAPID SPREAD OF FIRES.

OUTDOOR BURNING IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED ESPECIALLY NEAR THE BLUE
RIDGE TODAY WHERE FIRES ARE MORE APT TO GET OUT OF CONTROL.
REMEMBER TO USE CAUTION WHEN DISCARDING ANY SMOKING MATERIALS.
