...STRONG COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE WITH HIGH WINDS LATE FRIDAY NIGHT AND
EARLY SATURDAY...

A POWERFUL BUT MOSTLY DRY COLD FRONT IS FORECAST TO MOVE ACROSS THE
AREA LATE FRIDAY NIGHT AND EARLY SATURDAY. AS A RESULT...INCREASING
WIND WILL DEVELOP FRIDAY NIGHT WITH THE STRONGEST GUSTS EXPECTED
DURING THE LATE NIGHT AND EARLY MORNING HOURS. HIGH WINDS IN THE 35
MPH TO POSSIBLE 50 MPH RANGE ARE LIKELY...ALONG WITH AREAS LOW
VISIBILITY IN BLOWING DUST AND SAND.

THE MOST WIND PRONE AREAS ARE THE IMPERIAL VALLEY...INCLUDING THE
SALTON SEA...AND PORTIONS OF INTERSTATES 8 AND 10 IN EASTERN
RIVERSIDE AND IMPERIAL COUNTIES. BOATERS ALONG THE COLORADO RIVER ARE
ESPECIALLY VULNERABLE TO STRONG GUSTS AND ERRATIC CROSS WINDS.

CONDITIONS...

A POWERFUL COLD FRONT IS FORECAST TO MOVE ACROSS THE AREA SATURDAY
MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON. THIS WILL RESULT IN STRONG WEST TO
SOUTHWEST WINDS IN THE 30 MPH TO POSSIBLY 45 MPH RANGE. AREAS OF LOW
VISIBILITY IN BLOWING DUST AND SAND ARE ALSO LIKELY ON THE DESERTS.

THERE IS ALSO CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND POSSIBLY A THUNDERSTORM WITH THE
COLD FRONT.
