...WATER LEVELS ARE RUNNING HIGH ALONG THE LOWER ARKANSAS RIVER AT LA
JUNTA...

THE WATER LEVEL IN THE ARKANSAS RIVER AT LA JUNTA HAS CRESTED AND IS
NOW DECREASING.  HOWEVER...THE HIGH FLOWS WILL STILL BE DANGEROUS.
THOSE PARTICIPATING IN ACTIVITIES NEAR THE WATER ARE ADVISED TO USE
EXTREME CAUTION.  STRONG CURRENTS COULD QUICKLY BECOME A SAFETY HAZARD.

FOLLOWING IS THE LATEST AVAILABLE INFORMATION...

ARKANSAS RIVER AT LA JUNTA...
* AT  6:15 PM TUESDAY THE STAGE WAS 8.5 FEET.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 11.0 FEET.
* NO FLOODING IS CURRENTLY FORECAST.


STAY AWAY FROM THE BANKS OF THE RIVER.  DURING HIGH WATER...
SATURATED BANKS CAN EASILY BREAK OFF AND FALL INTO POTENTIALLY
DEADLY...FAST FLOWING WATER.
