HYDROLOGIC STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PHOENIX AZ
622 AM MST SUN MAR 2 2014

...WATER TO BE RELEASED OVER GRANITE REEF INTO SALT RIVER CHANNEL...

AT 6 AM SUNDAY...SALT RIVER PROJECT OFFICIALS INDICATED THAT
800 CUBIC FEET PER SECOND (CFS) OF WATER WAS CURRENTLY
FLOWING OVER GRANITE REEF DAM INTO THE SALT RIVER.

THIS AMOUNT OF FLOW WILL BE CONTAINED WITHIN THE BANKS OF THE SALT
RIVER AND AT THIS TIME IS NOT EXPECTED TO IMPACT ANY DOWNSTREAM
UNBRIDGED CROSSINGS.

INCREASES IN THE AMOUNT OF WATER FLOWING DOWNSTREAM OVER GRANITE
REEF DAM COULD OCCUR IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS...SHOULD CHANGES IN RUNOFF
NECESSITATE ADDITIONAL RELEASES BY THE SALT RIVER PROJECT FROM
BARTLETT DAM.

IF YOU HAVE ANY INTERESTS ALONG THE SALT RIVER...ESPECIALLY ALONG
LOW LYING AREAS...TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS...AND REMAIN ALERT FOR
INCREASES IN THE RIVER LEVEL. REMEMBER...BE A SMART MOTORIST AND DO
NOT DRIVE THROUGH WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH. THE WATER MAY BE DEEPER
AND STRONGER THAN YOU THINK.
