NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AMARILLO TX

FOR THE CIMARRON RIVER...THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS ARE INCLUDED...
THE GAGE SITE 2 MILES NORTHEAST OF KENTON.

.RUNOFF FROM THE HEAVY RAINFALL THAT OCCURRED THURSDAY NIGHT
HAS RESULTED IN A SIGNIFICANT RISE ON THE CIMARRON RIVER NEAR
KENTON. WATER LEVELS ALONG THE RIVER ARE ABOVE
BANKFULL AT THIS TIME. THE RIVER CRESTED AT 16.9 FEET AT 12:30 AM.
THE RIVER WILL CONTINUE TO FALL AND IT SHOULD BE BELOW ITS
11 FOOT BANKFULL STAGE BY SUNRISE.

FOR THE CIMARRON RIVER NEAR KENTON.
* LATEST STAGE: 12.3 FEET AT 4 AM SATURDAY.
* FLOOD STAGE: 20.0 FEET.
* BANKFULL STAGE: 11.0 FEET.

AT 11.0 FEET...BANKFULL STAGE. WATER IS UP TO THE LOWEST NATURAL
BANKS BUT WITHIN SECONDARY BANKS. LOW WATER CROSSINGS UPSTREAM AND
DOWNSTREAM ARE LIKELY FLOODED. FENCES BELOW THE SECONDARY BANK COULD
SUSTAIN DAMAGE. NO OTHER KNOWN THREATS.

CAUTION IS URGED WHEN WALKING NEAR RIVERBANKS.

THIS WILL BE THE LAST PRODUCT ISSUED FOR THIS EVENT FOR
THE CIMARRON RIVER.
