CURRENT CONDITIONS AS OF 01/27/15:
SEE THE COMMENTS ABOVE FOR DETAILS.

OUTLOOK FOR NEXT 7 DAYS:

ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES WILL RETURN TO NEAR NORMAL LATER THIS
WEEK AND TO BELOW NORMAL NEXT WEEK AS SOME ARCTIC AIR RETURNS TO
THE UPPER MIDWEST. IN GENERAL...WE SHOULD SEE HIGH AIR TEMPERATURES
IN THE 30S AND 40S TODAY AND TOMORROW WITH LOWS IN THE 20S.
TEMPERATURES WILL THEN BE COOLING DOWN THROUGH NEXT WEEK. LOW
TEMPERATURES IN THE NORTH SHOULD BE IN THE SINGLE DIGITS FRIDAY
THROUGH NEXT TUESDAY...WITH HIGHS WELL BELOW FREEZING. LOWS IN
THE SOUTH WILL BE IN THE TEENS AND 20S FRIDAY THROUGH NEXT TUESDAY
WITH HIGHS GENERALLY IN THE 30S.

STREAMFLOWS ARE NEAR NORMAL TO MUCH ABOVE NORMAL DUE TO RAIN AND
SNOWMELT IN DECEMBER AND MORE SNOWMELT IN THE PAST WEEK.

ONLY LIGHT PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED OVER THE MIDWEST FOR THE NEXT
7 DAYS.

IN OUR REGION...LOW TEMPERATURES THIS MORNING WERE 31 DEGREES IN
ST CLOUD MN...33 IN THE TWIN CITIES...30 AT LA CROSSE...31 DEGREES
AT ROCK ISLAND...AND 32 DEGREES AT ST LOUIS.

BASED ON THESE FACTORS...ICE SHOULD CONTINUE TO MELT FOR THE NEXT 2
DAYS AND THEN START RE-DEVELOPING LATER THIS WEEK THROUGH NEXT WEEK...
ESPECIALLY NORTH OF ABOUT LOCK AND DAM 15 WHERE ICE GROWTH COULD
BE RAPID. THE THREAT OF ICE JAMS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH NEXT WEEK.

THE NEXT ICE STATEMENT WILL BE RELEASED ON TUESDAY..FEB 03 2015.

...BSITES...
