...RECORD DAILY MAXIMUM RAINFALL SET AT LAKE YELLOWSTONE WY...

 ANOTHER LARGE DISTURBANCE BROUGHT WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS YESTERDAY. A RECORD RAINFALL OF 0.26 INCHES WAS SET AT
LAKE YELLOWSTONE WY YESTERDAY. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 0.21
SET IN 2002. NOTE THAT RECORDS FOR THE LAKE YELLOWSTONE SITE ONLY
DATE BACK TO 1998.

THE RECORD PRECIPITATION FOR THE COOPERATIVE OBSERVER SITE AT LAKE
YELLOWSTONE FOR AUGUST 31 IS 0.52 INCHES...WHICH WAS SET IN 1909.
