...A NEW RECORD DAILY LOWEST HIGH TEMPERATURE SET YESTERDAY FOR
THE COLUMBIA SOUTH CAROLINA METROPOLITAN AREA...

THE HIGH TEMPERATURE AT THE COLUMBIA METROPOLITAN AIRPORT ON MARCH
4TH WAS ONLY 40 DEGREES. THIS SET A NEW RECORD LOW MAXIMUM
TEMPERATURE FOR THE DATE. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 42 DEGREES FIRST
SET ON MARCH 4TH 1898...AND TIED AGAIN ON MARCH 4TH 2002.

DAILY TEMPERATURE RECORDS IN THE COLUMBIA AREA DATE BACK TO 1887.
