...THE RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE HAS BEEN BROKEN TODAY IN AUGUSTA GA...

A PERSISTENT RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE EXTENDING DOWN ACROSS THE
EAST-CENTRAL US HAS BROUGHT CLEAR SKIES...LOW HUMIDITIES AND GENTLE
WEST-NORTHWEST BREEZES TO EAST-CENTRAL GA AND CENTRAL SC THIS
AFTERNOON.  THIS COMBINATION OF FEATURES HAS BOOSTED TEMPERATURES TO
RECORD LEVELS.

THE TEMPERATURE AT AUGUSTA REGIONAL BUSH FIELD HAS REACHED 90 DEGREES
THIS AFTERNOON... BREAKING THE HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORD FOR OCTOBER
26TH. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 87 DEGREES SET FIRST IN 1939...
AND MOST RECENTLY IN 2010.

DAILY TEMPERATURE RECORDS DATE BACK TO 1873 IN THE AUGUSTA AREA.
