NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PENDLETON OREGON
1130 AM PDT WED AUG 26 2014

...TODAY IN WEATHER HISTORY FOR AUGUST 26TH...

IT WAS AN ACTIVE WEATHER DAY IN 1997...FOUR PEOPLE WERE KILLED AT
BUMPING LAKE, WASHINGTON WHEN HIGH WINDS BLEW A TREE ONTO THEIR
TRUCK. TWO OTHER PEOPLE WERE ALSO INJURED BY FALLING TREES IN THE
CLE ELUM, WASHINGTON AREA.

ALSO ON THIS DAY IN 1997, A TORNADO WITH A PATH OF ONE MILE DAMAGED
3 HOUSES, A WAREHOUSE, AND A BARN NEAR WHITE SWAN. IN ADDITION, A
BRUSH FIRE FANNED BY STRONG WINDS BURNED OVER 5100 ACRES SOUTH OF
KENNEWICK, WASHINGTON.
