THE TEMPERATURE IN NASHVILLE FOR AUGUST 2014 AVERAGED 79.6 DEGREES
WHICH IS 0.9 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE AVERAGE HIGH WAS 90.2 DEGREES
AND THE AVERAGE LOW WAS 69.1 DEGREES. THE HOTTEST TEMPERATURE
DURING THE MONTH WAS 97 DEGREES ON THE 6TH AND THE COOLEST WAS 59
DEGREES ON THE 14TH. THERE WERE 19 DAYS IN WHICH THE TEMPERATURE
REACHED OR EXCEEDED 90 DEGREES. NO RECORDS WERE SET OR TIED DURING
THE MONTH.

THE HIGHEST HEAT INDEX AT NASHVILLE DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST WAS
104 ON THE 20TH AND AGAIN ON THE 23RD.

AUGUST WAS MUCH WETTER THAN NORMAL IN NASHVILLE WITH A TOTAL OF 5.47
INCHES FALLING DURING THE MONTH. THE GREATEST RAINFALL DURING A 24 HOUR
PERIOD WAS 1.81 INCHES ON THE 30TH AND 31ST.

THUNDERSTORMS OCCURRED ON 8 DAYS DURING THE MONTH.

THE AVERAGE WIND SPEED WAS 4.5 MILES AN HOUR. THE FASTEST GUST WAS
35 MILES AN HOUR DURING A THUNDERSTORM ON THE 23RD.

FOG OCCURRED ON 19 DAYS DURING THE MONTH WITH 2 DAYS OF DENSE FOG.

THE TEMPERATURE IN CLARKSVILLE FOR AUGUST 2014 AVERAGED 78.2 DEGREES
WHICH IS 1.0 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE AVERAGE HIGH WAS 89.4 DEGREES
AND THE AVERAGE LOW WAS 66.9 DEGREES. THE HOTTEST TEMPERATURE DURING
THE MONTH WAS 96 DEGREES ON THE 6TH AND COOLEST WAS 55 DEGREES ON THE
13TH AND 14TH. THERE WERE 17 DAYS IN WHICH THE TEMPERATURE REACHED OR
EXCEEDED 90 DEGREES.

AUGUST WAS WETTER THAN NORMAL AT CLARKSVILLE WITH A TOTAL RAINFALL
OF 4.24 INCHES FOR THE MONTH. THE GREATEST RAINFALL DURING A 24
HOUR PERIOD WAS 1.08 INCHES ON THE 30TH AND 31ST.

THUNDERSTORMS OCCURRED ON 9 DAYS DURING THE MONTH.

THE AVERAGE WIND SPEED WAS 4.9 MILES AN HOUR. THE FASTEST GUST WAS
75 MILES AN HOUR DURING A THUNDERSTORM ON THE 20TH. THIS IS ONE OF
THE FASTEST WIND GUSTS EVER RECORDED AT CLARKSVILLE.

FOG OCCURRED ON 23 DAYS DURING THE MONTH WITH 2 DAYS OF DENSE FOG.

THE AVERAGE WIND SPEED WAS 3.4 MILES AN HOUR. THE FASTEST GUST WAS
33 MILES AN HOUR ON THE 4TH AND 20TH.
