...NO EMERGENCY ONGOING AT THE COOPER NUCLEAR PLANT ...

AT 348 PM CDT A CIVIL EMERGENCY MESSAGE WAS INADVERTENTLY ISSUED
BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN OMAHA INDICATING AN EMERGENCY
HAD BEEN DECLARED. THIS WAS AN ERROR...AND THERE IS NO EMERGENCY
OCCURRING AT THE COOPER NUCLEAR PLANT. TO REPEAT...THERE IS NO
EMERGENCY ONGOING AT THE COOPER NUCLEAR PLANT.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AND LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT WORK
IN COOPERATION TO WARN THE PUBLIC OF POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS
SITUATIONS...SUCH AS IN THE EVENT OF AN ACTUAL EMERGENCY AT THE
COOPER NUCLEAR PLANT. THE EARLIER MESSAGE WAS TRANSMITTED IN
ERROR. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO EMERGENCY ACTIONS THAT NEED TO BE
TAKEN BY THE PUBLIC. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION...PLEASE CONTACT THE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN OMAHA...OR LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT.
BUT TO REPEAT...THERE IS NO EMERGENCY OCCURRING AT THE COOPER
NUCLEAR PLANT.
