NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE JACKSON KY

...SUMMER COLD SETS SEVERAL RECORDS...

THANKS TO THE UNSEASONABLY COLD AIR SEEN OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF
DAYS...A FEW LOW TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE BROKEN OVER THE LAST TWO
DAYS. CONDITIONS FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS FELT MORE LIKE LATE
SEPTEMBER THAN THE MIDDLE OF JULY. THE FOLLOWING ARE A FEW OF THE
CHILLY RECORDS THAT WERE NOTED:

DATE JULY 16TH 17TH
NEW (OLD) RECORD NEW (OLD) RECORD
JACKSON 55 (58) 54 (59)
INEZ 53 (54) 53 (54)
MOUNT STERLING 48 (51) 49 (55)
PAINTSVILLE 54 (56) NONE
MOUNT VERNON NONE 52 (53)
BARBOURVILLE NONE 53 TIE

A FEW VALLEY LOCATIONS COULD SEE TEMPERATURES DIP INTO THE MIDDLE 50S
TONIGHT. ALTHOUGH READINGS WILL BE A LITTLE COOLER THAN NORMAL FOR
THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS...LOOK FOR A RETURN TO MORE SEASONABLE
TEMPERATURES BY EARLY NEXT WEEK.
