...DALLAS/FORT WORTH CLIMATE NARRATIVE FOR NOVEMBER 2014...

WITH A MEAN TEMPERATURE MORE THAN 5 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL...NOVEMBER
2014 RANKS AS THE 6TH COOLEST ON RECORD FOR DALLAS/FORT WORTH.

DFW AIRPORT WENT 6 CONSECUTIVE DAYS (NOVEMBER 12-17) WITHOUT TOPPING
45 DEGREES...A RECORD FOR NOVEMBER. THE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS ONLY 38
DEGREES ON NOVEMBER 13. THERE ARE ONLY TWO OCCURRENCES OF HIGHS IN
THE 30S EARLIER IN A SEASON THAN THIS.

A TRACE OF SLEET ON NOVEMBER 13 WAS THE EARLIEST WINTRY
PRECIPITATION IN A SEASON AT DFW AIRPORT SINCE OCTOBER 29 OF 1993
WHEN A TRACE OF SNOW FELL. A TRACE OF SNOW FOLLOWED ON NOVEMBER 16
OF THIS YEAR...BUT MANY LOCATIONS IN NORTH TEXAS RECORDED MEASURABLE
SNOW.

THE MONTH WAS NOT WITHOUT WARM WEATHER AS THERE WERE 10 DAYS WITH
HIGHS IN THE 70S...INCLUDING 79 DEGREES ON NOVEMBER 10 AND AGAIN ON
THE FINAL DAY OF THE MONTH.

NOVEMBER WAS THE 10TH MONTH IN THE LAST 11 WITH BELOW NORMAL
PRECIPITATION...AUGUST 2014 BEING THE LONE WET MONTH. THE YEAR-TO-
DATE PRECIPITATION TOTAL (JANUARY 1-NOVEMBER 30) RANKS AS THE 12TH
DRIEST IN 116 YEARS OF RECORDS.
