...STRONG WINDS IN THE KITTITAS VALLEY TODAY...
...BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES IN THE CENTRAL OREGON PLATEAU
TONIGHT EAST OF THE CASCADES...

.A STRONG COLD FRONT WHICH MOVED THROUGH THE REGION LAST EVENING
HAS LEFT COLDER TEMPERATURES AND GUSTY WINDS IN ITS WAKE THIS
MORNING. WINDS IN MANY AREAS WILL BECOME BREEZY TO WINDY THIS
MORNING. THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL BE IN THE KITTITAS VALLEY FROM
THIS MORNING THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON. DIMINISHING WINDS AND
CLEARING SKIES WILL ALLOW FOR STRONG RADIATIONAL COOLING TO TAKE
PLACE TONIGHT. THE COLDEST TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN THE
MOUNTAINS AS WELL AS THE CENTRAL OREGON PLATEAU. A FREEZE WARNING
HAS THEREFORE BEEN ISSUED FOR THE CENTRAL OREGON PLATEAU FOR NEAR
TO BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES OVERNIGHT TONIGHT AND EARLY
WEDNESDAY MORNING.

WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM PDT
WEDNESDAY.

* TIMING: 10 PM THIS EVENING UNTIL 9 AM WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* TEMPERATURE: OVERNIGHT LOW TEMPERATURES FROM 26 TO 32.

* IMPACTS: BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES WILL INJURE OR KILL
  SENSITIVE VEGETATION...AND CROPS THAT HAVE YET TO BE HARVESTED.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FREEZE WARNING MEANS SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE IMMINENT OR
HIGHLY LIKELY. THESE CONDITIONS WILL KILL CROPS AND OTHER
SENSITIVE VEGETATION.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PENDLETON HAS ISSUED A WIND
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM THIS MORNING TO 5 PM PDT
THIS AFTERNOON.

* TIMING: 8 AM THIS MORNING UNTIL 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON.

* WINDS: 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 55 MPH.

* IMPACTS: DRIVING WILL BECOME DIFFICULT ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH
  PROFILE VEHICLES ON ROADWAYS THAT ARE ORIENTED NORTH - SOUTH. IN
  ADDITION THESE WINDS MAY CAUSE LOOSE OBJECTS TO BE PICKED UP
  AND BLOWN SOME DISTANCE WITH MINOR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS ARE FORECAST
BETWEEN 30 AND 39 MPH OR GUSTS RANGING FROM 45 TO 57 MPH. WINDS
OF THESE MAGNITUDES CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR
HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. MINOR PROPERTY DAMAGE MAY ALSO OCCUR. FOR
