OF ALABAMA AND NORTHWEST FLORIDA...

...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORIES REMAIN IN EFFECT ELSEWHERE...

.A STRONG AREA OF SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE EXTENDING FROM THE WESTERN
ATLANTIC WESTWARD TO EAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER VALLEY TODAY IS
RESULTING IN A MODERATE TO STRONG EAST SOUTHEAST FLOW. THE HIGH
MOVES EASTWARD ON SUNDAY AS A STRENGTHENING AREA OF SURFACE LOW
PRESSURE PIVOTS NORTHEAST ACROSS THE MID SOUTH. AS THIS
OCCURS...WINDS TURN MORE ONSHORE FROM THE SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST AND
REMAIN STRONG. WIND GUSTS COULD APPROACH GALE FORCE THROUGH MOST OF
THE DAY ON SUNDAY OVER THE GULF COASTAL WATERS OF ALABAMA AND
NORTHWEST FLORIDA. SEAS WILL TREND MUCH HIGHER.

THE GALE WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH
SUNDAY AFTERNOON. A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM
6 PM SUNDAY TO NOON CST MONDAY.

* WINDS: EAST 18 TO 22 KNOTS WITH FREQUENT HIGHER GUSTS RANGING FROM
  23 TO 28 KNOTS. EAST SOUTHEAST THIS EVENING VEER TO THE SOUTH BY
  DAYBREAK SUNDAY 20 TO 25 KNOTS. WIND GUSTS TO GALE FORCE POSSIBLE
  SUNDAY.

* SEAS: 4 TO 6 FEET NEAR SHORE AND 5 TO 7 FEET WELL OFFSHORE
  TODAY. SEAS BUILD 6 TO 9 FEET TONIGHT AND THEN UPWARDS OF
  AROUND 10 FEET WELL OFFSHORE BY SUNDAY. THE HIGHEST OF THE
  SEAS LOOK TO RESIDE 20 TO 60 NAUTICAL MILES OFFSHORE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY MEANS THAT WIND SPEEDS OF 20 TO 33 KNOTS...
AND/OR SEAS 7 FEET OR HIGHER ARE EXPECTED TO PRODUCE HAZARDOUS
CONDITIONS FOR SMALL CRAFT. INEXPERIENCED BOATERS...ESPECIALLY
THOSE OPERATING SMALLER VESSELS SHOULD AVOID NAVIGATING IN THESE
CONDITIONS.

A GALE WATCH IS ISSUED WHEN THE RISK OF GALE FORCE WINDS OF 34 TO
47 KNOTS HAS SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED...BUT THE SPECIFIC TIMING
AND/OR LOCATION IS STILL UNCERTAIN. IT IS INTENDED TO PROVIDE
ADDITIONAL LEAD TIME FOR MARINERS WHO MAY WISH TO CONSIDER
ALTERING THEIR PLANS.
