...AN AREA OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT CHEROKEE...SOUTHEAST
MONROE...EAST POLK...BLOUNT SMOKY MOUNTAINS...

AT 237 PM EDT...AN AREA OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUES TO DEVELOP
OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN ALONG THE NORTH CAROLINA BORDER. ONE
PARTICULAR STORM OF NOTE WAS 8 MILES NORTH OF MURPHY...MOVING
NORTHEAST AT 15 MPH.

WINDS IN EXCESS OF 30 MPH AND PEA SIZE HAIL ARE POSSIBLE WITH THIS
STORM.

THIS STORM MAY INTENSIFY...SO BE CERTAIN TO MONITOR LOCAL RADIO AND
TV STATIONS...AS WELL AS LOCAL CABLE TV OUTLETS...FOR ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.
