FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UTAH
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SALT LAKE CITY UT
441 AM MDT MON SEP 1 2014

...COOL TODAY WITH A WARMING TREND BEGINNING TOMORROW...

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...BREEZY NORTH WINDS ALONG WITH COOLER
AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL PREVAIL ACROSS MUCH OF THE FORECAST AREA.
A WARMING TREND WILL DEVELOP FOR THE MIDWEEK PERIOD. SOME MOISTURE
WILL RETURN FROM THE SOUTH AHEAD OF THE NEXT PACIFIC STORM SYSTEM
TO IMPACT THE REGION MIDWEEK.

.DISCUSSION...UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OVER THE NORTHERN ROCKIES WILL
CONTINUE TO SHIFT EAST. COOLER WITH A DRY AND STABLE AIRMASS TODAY.
EXPECT BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES ACROSS MUCH OF THE STATE. A WARMING
TREND WILL BEGIN TUESDAY AS HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT REBOUNDS.
TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO RETURN TO NEAR OR SLIGHTLY ABOVE
SEASONAL NORMS MIDWEEK. INCREASING SOUTHERLY WINDS ACROSS NORTHERN
AND WESTERN UTAH ARE ANTICIPATED AHEAD OF THE NEXT PACIFIC STORM
SYSTEM. THIS STORM SYSTEM COULD DRAW MOISTURE NORTH INTO SOUTHERN
UTAH FOR LATE TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY. IF THIS OCCURS...ISOLATED
CONVECTION WILL FORM OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN BY LATE TUESDAY
AFTERNOON...WITH A BETTER CHANCE OF ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ON WEDNESDAY. TEMPS WILL COOL AGAIN LATE IN THE WEEK
AS THE COLD FRONT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS NEXT TROUGH SWEEPS SOUTH
ACROSS MAINLY NORTHERN AND CENTRAL UTAH.

***THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY STRONG GUSTY AND ERRATIC WINDS***
***ALL WINDS ARE 20 FOOT...10-MINUTE AVERAGES***
