FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR WEST VIRGINIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHARLESTON WV
141 PM EDT TUE SEP 30 2014

.DISCUSSION...
ANOTHER DISTURBANCE IN THE WINDS ALOFT...WILL DROP OUT OF THE
EASTERN GREAT LAKES THIS MORNING. IT SHOULD BE SWINGING THROUGH
WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA THIS EVENING. MEANWHILE...ITS ASSOCIATED WEAK
COLD FRONT WILL ALSO MOVE SOUTHEAST...BEFORE STALLING NEAR OUR
SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA COUNTIES BY DAWN WEDNESDAY.

A FEW SHOWERS...MAYBE EVEN A THUNDERSTORM...ARE POSSIBLE THIS
AFTERNOON AND EVENING...ACROSS EASTERN OHIO...PLUS NORTHERN AND
CENTRAL WEST VIRGINIA. MEANWHILE...DRY AIR SHOULD HOLD FOR MOST OF
EASTERN KENTUCKY...SOUTHERN WEST VIRGINIA...AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA.

BEHIND THE FRONT...SOME LOW STRATUS CLOUDS OR FOG COULD FORM
OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. THOSE CLOUDS WILL HOLD AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES
DOWN A BIT ACROSS SOUTHEAST OHIO ON WEDNESDAY.

HOWEVER...A WARMER AFTERNOON IS EXPECTED THURSDAY...AS HIGH PRESSURE
SLIDES THROUGH.

A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL LIKELY WHIP THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND
EVENING...WITH SHOWERS AND SOME THUNDERSTORMS. IN ITS WAKE...COOLER
AIR IS EXPECTED THE WEEKEND. EVEN COOLER WEATHER MAY FOLLOW EARLY
NEXT WEEK...AS A REINFORCING COLD FRONT CROSSES.
