NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ANCHORAGE AK
704 AM AKDT THU APR 17 2014

.DISCUSSION...A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER THE GULF OF ALASKA IS MOVING
WEST TOWARD KODIAK ISLAND AND WEAKENING. AS IT DOES SO...WETTING RAINS
CAN BE EXPECTED ACROSS KODIAK ISLAND THROUGH THIS EVENING. THE
SOUTH CENTRAL MAINLAND ON THE OTHER HAND WILL SEE DRYING CONDITIONS
TODAY WITH A FEW SHOWERS DEVELOPING IN THE AFTERNOON. GENERALLY BROAD
SOUTHERLY FLOW DEVELOPS OVER THE GULF TONIGHT AND BRINGS RAINS OR MIXED
RAIN AND SNOW BACK TO THE COASTS WITH SHOWERS INLAND OVER SOUTH CENTRAL
THROUGH FRIDAY. HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING OVER THE MAINLAND ON SATURDAY
WILL BRING DRYING CONDITONS ONCE AGAIN ALONG WITH SOME LOCALLY GUSTY
OUTFLOW WINDS ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL.
