THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE PA HAS EXTENDED THE

* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHERN CUMBERLAND COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA...
  SOUTHEASTERN PERRY COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA...

* UNTIL 515 AM EDT MONDAY

* AT 1029 PM EDT...EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT REPORTED SIGNIFICANT ONGOING
  FLOODING FROM EARLIER HEAVY RAINFALL OVER NORTHERN CUMBERLAND
  COUNTY. AS OF 1025 PM EDT...THE MOST SERIOUS FLOODING IN
  CUMBERLAND COUNTY WAS NORTH OF CARLISLE...FROM THE CARLISLE
  SPRINGS AREA TO BLOSERVILLE...WHERE NUMEROUS ROADS REMAIN CLOSED.
  ALSO AT 1025 PM IN PERRY COUNTY...LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORTED
  NUMEROUS ROADS REMAIN CLOSED BETWEEN LANDISVILLE AND SHERMANSDALE.
  EVENING RADAR PRECIPITATION ESTIMATES OF BETWEEN 4 AND 6 INCHES
  WERE CENTERED OVER THIS AREA...ALONG WITH STORM SPOTTER REPORTS IN
  EXCESS OF 5 INCHES.

* EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THE EARLIER HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE
  OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS BEFORE GRADUALLY RECEDING IN THE EARLY
  MORNING HOURS BEFORE DAWN MONDAY.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL CONTINUE TO EXPERIENCE FLOODING OVERNIGHT
  INCLUDE...
  CARLISLE...ENOLA...PLAINFIELD...SCHLUSSER...NEWVILLE...CARLISLE
  SPRINGS...BLOSERVILLE...SHERMANSDALE...COLONEL DENNING STATE
  PARK...WERTZVILLE AND PENN STATE DICKINSON SCHOOL OF LAW.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN REPORTED.
STREAM RISES WILL BE SLOW AND FLASH FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED.
HOWEVER...ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS
IMMEDIATELY.

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.
