THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN COLUMBIA HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  LANCASTER COUNTY IN CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA...
  THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF LANCASTER...

* UNTIL 1100 AM EDT

* AT 933 AM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
HEAVY RAIN OVER MUCH OF CENTRAL LANCASTER COUNTY. THIS AREA RECEIVED
HEAVY RAIN EARLIER FROM A COMPLEX OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF UP TO 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE OVER
THE NEXT 2 HOURS.

A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN REPORTED.
STREAM RISES WILL BE SLOW AND FLASH FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED.
HOWEVER...ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS
IMMEDIATELY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.

REPORT LARGE HAIL...DAMAGING WINDS OR FLOODING TO YOUR COUNTY
SHERIFF...OR USE WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/NWSCOLUMBIA AND EMAIL
CAEWX@NOAA.GOV TO RELAY SEVERE WEATHER REPORTS.
