* URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR HEAVY RAINFALL AND MINOR
  FLOODING IN...
  CENTRAL CHESTERFIELD COUNTY IN CENTRAL VIRGINIA...
  CENTRAL HENRICO COUNTY IN CENTRAL VIRGINIA...
  CITY OF RICHMOND IN CENTRAL VIRGINIA...

* UNTIL 630 PM EDT

* AT 457 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAINFALL OVER CITY OF RICHMOND...CENTRAL
  HENRICO AND CENTRAL CHESTERFIELD COUNTIES. DOPPLER RADAR
  ESTIMATED BETWEEN 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAINFALL HAS FALLEN DURING THE
  PAST HOUR WITH AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAINFALL EXPECTED
  OVER THE NEXT HOUR.

* RUNOFF FROM THIS HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE MINOR FLOODING TO
  OCCUR...ESPECIALLY ALONG SMALL STREAMS...IN LOW LYING AREAS...AND
  AREAS OF POOR DRAINAGE. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE MINOR
  FLOODING INCLUDE...BON AIR...DOWNTOWN RICHMOND...UNIVERSITY OF
  RICHMOND...VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITY...VIRGINIA UNION
  UNIVERSITY...BELLWOOD AND BENSLEY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE MINOR FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES
AS WELL AS OTHER DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. TURN AROUND...DO NOT DROWN.
