THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ELKO HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTH CENTRAL WHITE PINE COUNTY IN EASTERN NEVADA...
  THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF...PRESTON...LUND...
  NORTHEASTERN NYE COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL NEVADA...

* UNTIL 315 PM PDT

* AT 1215 PM PDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
THAT VERY HEAVY RAINFALL IS OCCURRING OVER THE EGAN MOUNTAIN RANGE
TO THE EAST OF LUND AND PRESTON. MULTIPLE RADARS ESTIMATE THAT ONE
TO THREE INCHES OF RAINFALL AND SIGNIFICANT HAIL HAS OCCURRED WITH
THIS STORM. THE STORM IS CONTINUING TO REMAIN STATIONARY WITH
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL LIKELY. FLASH FLOODING IS ALREADY OCCURRING OR
IS IMMINENT IN THE MOUNTAINS AND THIS WATER WILL LIKELY MOVE INTO
PORTIONS OF LUND AND STATE ROUTE 318. ADDITIONAL FLASH FLOODING IS
LIKELY IN THE WHITE PINE MOUNTAIN RANGES.

LOCATIONS NEAR THE PATH OF INCLUDE...LUND AND PRESTON.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING STREAMS AND DRAINAGES...SAW MILL CANYON
ROAD...CHRISTMAS TREE CANYON...COTTONWOOD CANYON...AND WATER
CANYON.

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.

FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT. IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE
YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME
KILLERS IN HEAVY RAINS. CAMPERS AND HIKERS SHOULD AVOID STREAMS OR
CREEKS.
