THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND JUNCTION  HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHWESTERN MESA COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL COLORADO...
  SOUTHWESTERN GARFIELD COUNTY IN NORTHWEST COLORADO...

* UNTIL 930 PM MDT

* AT 332 PM MDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS
  PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN ABOVE EAST SALT CREEK AND WEST SALT CREEK
  NORTH OF MACK COLORADO. RADAR ESTIMATES UP TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN
  HAS ALREADY FALLEN. FLASH FLOODING IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN SHORTLY
  ALONG AND DOWNSTREAM OF BOTH THE EAST AND WEST BRANCHES OF SALT
  CREEK AS THEY FLOW DOWN TOWARD THE COLORADO RIVER.

* EXCESSIVE RAINFALL OVER THE WARNING AREA WILL CAUSE MUD SLIDES
  NEAR STEEP TERRAIN. MUD SLIDES CAN CONSIST OF ROCK...MUD...
  VEGETATION AND OTHER LOOSE MATERIALS.

* FLASH FLOODING WILL REMAIN OVER MAINLY RURAL AREAS OF NORTHWESTERN
  MESA AND SOUTHWESTERN GARFIELD COUNTIES.

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF ONE HALF TO ONE INCH WILL BE
POSSIBLE IN THE WARNED AREA.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND NOW. ACT QUICKLY TO PROTECT YOUR LIFE.

HEAVY RAINFALL TRIGGERS ROCKSLIDES...MUDSLIDES AND DEBRIS FLOWS IN
STEEP TERRAIN.
