THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHEASTERN HAMPDEN COUNTY IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS...
  SOUTHEASTERN HAMPSHIRE COUNTY IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS...
  WEST CENTRAL WORCESTER COUNTY IN CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS...

* UNTIL 900 PM EDT

* AT 606 PM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING
  HEAVY RAIN ACROSS THE WARNED AREA.  RADAR ESTIMATED 2 TO 4 INCHES
  OF RAINFALL HAS FALLEN OVER PALMER...WARE...AND WARREN SO FAR THIS
  EVENING.  THESE STORMS ARE BARELY MOVING...SO ADDITIONAL RAINFALL
  IS EXPECTED.  FLASH FLOODING IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN SHORTLY.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
  SPRINGFIELD...LUDLOW...BELCHERTOWN...WILBRAHAM...PALMER...
  SPENCER...WARE...MONSON...TEMPLETON...RUTLAND...BARRE...HAMPDEN...
  WARREN...NORTH BROOKFIELD...HUBBARDSTON...WEST BROOKFIELD...
  BRIMFIELD...BROOKFIELD...HARDWICK...OAKHAM...WALES...PHILLIPSTON...
  PETERSHAM AND NEW BRAINTREE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING IS ISSUED FOR RAPID AND POTENTIALLY LIFE
THREATENING FLOODING. IN URBAN AREAS AVOID FLOODED ROADS AND OBEY
ROAD CLOSURES. THOSE NEAR SMALL STREAMS MUST HEAD FOR HIGHER GROUND
IMMEDIATELY.
