...FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR AREAS NEAR THE SILVERADO BURN SCAR...

.A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVING THROUGH THE AREA WILL BRING A
PERIOD OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN BETWEEN MIDNIGHT TO 8 AM SATURDAY.
RAIN RATES DURING THIS TIME MAY BE HIGH ENOUGH TO PRODUCE FLASH
FLOODING AND DEBRIS FLOWS OVER AND NEAR THE SILVERADO BURN SCAR.
THE RAIN WILL CHANGE OVER THE SCATTERED SHOWERS SATURDAY AFTERNOON
THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH
SATURDAY MORNING...

THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* A PORTION OF SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
  AREA...SANTA ANA MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS.

* FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING

* FORECAST RAINFALL OF 0.50 TO 0.90 INCHES WILL CREATE THE
  POSSIBILITY FOR FLASH FLOODING OVER AND NEAR THE SILVERADO BURN
  SCAR. HEAVIEST RAINFALL AND THE HIGHEST RAINFALL RATES ARE
  EXPECTED BETWEEN ABOUT MIDNIGHT TO 8 AM PDT SATURDAY MORNING.
  THIS IS WHEN THE FLASH FLOOD THREAT WILL BE THE GREATEST.
  ADDITIONAL LIGHT SHOWERS WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER THE AREA THROUGH
  SATURDAY NIGHT.

* THE RISK OF FLASH FLOODING AND DEBRIS FLOWS WILL BE GREATEST
  OVER AND DOWNSTREAM OF THE SILVERADO BURN SCAR. SILVERADO
  CANYON ROAD WILL BE ESPECIALLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO DEBRIS FLOWS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
