HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GAYLORD MI
1000 AM EDT FRI APR 11 2014

...INCREASED RISK FOR FLOODING THIS WEEKEND AND EARLY NEXT WEEK...

WET WEATHER WILL MAKE A RETURN TO NORTHERN MICHIGAN THIS WEEKEND
AND EARLY NEXT WEEK...WITH SEVERAL ROUNDS OF RAIN FORECAST TO MOVE
THROUGH THE REGION. THIS RAIN MAY BE HEAVY AT TIMES...PERHAPS EVEN
ENHANCED BY THUNDERSTORMS...WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR 1 TO 2 INCHES
OF PRECIPITATION TO FALL IN MANY AREAS. SHOULD THE RAIN PASS OVER
THE SAME AREAS...IT IS NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION THAT UP TO 3 INCHES
OF RAIN MAY FALL IN A FEW SPOTS.

COMBINED WITH RECENT WARM WEATHER AND SNOW MELT...THE AMOUNT OF
RAIN CURRENTLY BEING FORECAST WILL PRESENT THE POSSIBILITY OF
FLOODING ON AREA STREAMS AND RIVERS. THE FLOODING POTENTIAL WILL
BE ENHANCED BY THE FACT THAT MANY RIVERS ARE ALREADY RUNNING
HIGH...AND SOME REMAIN FILLED WITH LARGE AMOUNTS OF ICE.

THOSE LIVING NEAR STREAMS AND RIVERS ARE URGED TO KEEP A CLOSE EYE
ON RAINFALL AMOUNTS OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS...AND BE PREPARED TO
TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING RESULT.

MORE INFORMATION ON THE POSSIBILITY FOR HEAVY RAIN CAN BE FOUND
ONLINE AT WEATHER.GOV...OR BY VISITING THE NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE IN GAYLORD ON FACEBOOK OR TWITTER.
