...WARMEST SEPTEMBER IN HISTORY WITH MUCH NEEDED RAIN SAINT PAUL...

SEPTEMBER 2014 FOR ST PAUL HAS OFFICIALLY SET THE RECORD AS THE THE WARMEST IN
RECORDED HISTORY WITH TWENTY-SIX TIED OR BROKEN HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORDS. THE
MOST INFLUENTIAL WEATHER PATTERN FOR THE MONTH WAS A SERIES OF LOWS WHICH
BROUGHT MUCH NEEDED RAIN TO THE AREA... AS WELL AS PROVIDED FOR PREDOMINANTLY
CLOUDY SKIES THAT LEAD TO MANY HIGH MINIMUM TEMPERATURES THAT HELPED RAISE THE
AVERAGE TEMPERATURE INTO THE RECORD SPOT... DESPITE HAVING WINDS PREDOMINATELY
FROM THE NORTHWEST.

MONTHLY TEMPERATURE AVERAGES WERE ALL IN THE TOP TEN ON RECORD FOR THE MONTH OF
SEPTEMBER. THE AVERAGE MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE WAS THE WARMEST THE AVERAGE
MINIMUM TEMPERATURE WAS THE THIRD WARMEST AND THE OVERALL AVERAGE MONTHLY
TEMPERATURE WAS THE WARMEST ON RECORD. ON AVERAGE THE DAILY TEMPERATURE
WAS FIVE DEGREES WARMER THAN NORMAL. ST PAUL TIED SEVEN RECORD TEMPERATURES...
AND SET TWENTY NEW TEMPERATURE RECORDS.

PRECIPITATION FOR SEPTEMBER 2014 WAS WELL ABOVE NORMAL AS WELL WITH TOTAL
ACCUMULATION ALMOST ONE INCH ABOVE NORMAL OF THE MONTHLY AVERAGE.  NINETEEN DAYS
HAD PRECIPITATION GREATER THAN 0.01... WITH A ONE DAY ALONE SETTING A RECORD FOR
0.92 INCHES IN ONE DAY.
