THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR RIVERTON IN OCTOBER WAS 50.1
DEGREES...WHICH WAS 5.0 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THIS MAKES IT THE 2ND
WARMEST OCTOBER ON RECORD FOR THE RIVERTON AIRPORT SITE. THE WARMEST
OCTOBER CAME IN 2010 WHEN AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 50.5 DEGREES
OCCURRED. THE WARMEST READING FOR THE MONTH WAS 75 DEGREES ON THE
6TH AND 7TH...WHICH SET NEW DAILY RECORDS FOR THE 6TH...BREAKING THE
OLD RECORD OF 73 DEGREES...LAST SET IN 2003...AND ON THE 7TH...TYING
THE OLD RECORD LAST SET IN 2003. 2 OTHER RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES
WERE SET DURING THE MONTH. ON THE 24TH A RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE OF
74 DEGREES BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 68 DEGREES...WHICH WAS LAST
SET IN 2011. AND ON THE 25TH A RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 73 DEGREES
BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 68 DEGREES...WHICH WAS LAST SET IN
1999. THE COLDEST READING FOR THE MONTH WAS 25 DEGREES ON THE 28TH.

TOTAL PRECIPITATION FOR THE MONTH WAS 0.16 OF AN INCH...WHICH WAS 18
PERCENT OF NORMAL. THIS MAKES IT THE 3RD DRIEST OCTOBER ON RECORD
FOR THE RIVERTON AIRPORT SITE. THE DRIEST OCTOBER CAME IN 2001 WHEN
ONLY 0.03 INCHES FELL DURING THE MONTH. THE WETTEST 24 HOUR PERIOD
OCCURRED ON THE 1ST...WHEN 0.08 OF AN INCH OF PRECIPITATION FELL.
ONLY A TRACE OF SNOW FELL DURING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER. THE HIGHEST
