DESPITE THE COLD JULLY PATTERN...THE TEMPERATURE DEPARTURE AT FARGO
HECTOR FIELD WAS ONLY 1.6 DEGREES BELOW THE LONG TERM AVERAGE. THIS
WAS NOT A TOP 10 OR TOP 20 COLDEST JULY...IT WAS WELL WITHIN THE
EXPECTED CLIMATOLOGICAL VARIANCE FOUND IN ANY GIVEN JULY. THE
WARMEST WAS 93 DEGREES ON THE 20 AND 21ST WITH THE COLDEST OF 49 ON
THE 3RD AND 15TH.

THE 1.64 INCHES OF TOTAL RAINFALL WAS WELL BELOW THE LONG TERM
AVERAGE OF 2.79 BY 1.15 INCHES. THIS PUTS JULY 2014 IN 38TH PLACE
BASED ON PRELIMINARY DATA. DRY...BUT NOT UNUSUALLY OR EXCEPTIONALLY
DRY.

THE PEAK WIND OF 46 MPH OCCURRED ON THE 21ST WHEN A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS
CROSSED THE RED RIVER VALLEY.

THE ABOVE INFORMATION IS PROVISIONAL...IS BASED ON EDITED DATA AND
WILL LIKELY BE CHANGED SLIGHTLY AFTER FURTHER REVIEW BY THE NATIONAL
CLIMATE DATA CENTER. OFFICIAL RECORDS AND SUMMARIES WILL BE
AVAILABLE LATER THIS FALL.
